About Me
I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and have over 30 years of experience in clinical practice.
It isn't always easy to manage the many parts of our lives. Sometimes situations, fears, beliefs, and unmet needs make the goals of being content and happy seem hard to reach. While we do the best we can, that doesn't always seem to be enough. When things need to change, a genuine, empathic and thoughtful therapist can be part of the answer. It is a privilege to be trusted with an individual’s most vulnerable and painful experiences in the pursuit of more satisfying and healthy relationships, achieving personal goals, and navigating difficult life transitions, to bring increased personal fulfillment.
Together, we can explore what works best for you, whether it is visiting the past, to illuminate your present realities, integrating tools to better cope, supporting the lifestyle of your choosing, releasing old habits,/beliefs/ patterns, or discovering previously unrecognized parts of who you are. The goal is to assist you on a path that promotes growth.
I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the change individuals seek in exploring and understanding more about the self. I provide empathy and thoughtfulness with a focus on resiliency.
Treatment methods include insight oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy, emotionally focused therapy, strength based family systems, integrated family systems, and mindfulness based strategies to uncover and unwind what isn't productive. This will set the stage for responding and living a more happy and healthy life. In addition, I have training in mindfulness based cognitive therapy, DBT, strength based family systems, psychodynamic psychotherapy, emotionally focused therapy as well as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
